For 17 years she raised her family around the world in France, South Africa, South Korea, Australia, Japan and the USA. She now lives and works in Cheltenham.

She has exhibited internationally in Sydney , Tokyo , New York, London and the Cotswolds.
In 2022 she was selected as an artist in residence at Noce Fresca in Sardinia. In 2023 , she was selected as an artist in residence at the The Scuola Internazionale di Grafica Venezia . In 2024 she is one of the artists selected to work in residence at the prestigious Tyrone Guthrie Centre for creative art in Ireland. And in 2025 she is heading to the Greek Island of Skopelos for an international residency with the Skopelos Foundation for the Arts.

She was elected a member for Chelsea Art Society in 2023 Ella’ s paintings are inspired by the transience of nature and the light in the landscapes, seascapes and urban world around her. The beauty of the everyday, the gesture of the figure, the clarity and changes in the light in a still life, the pattern and composition of the landscape are the starting points in her work.

Her practice involves painting in watercolour, gouache and drawing in charcoal within her chosen landscape ‘ en plein air’. Theses studies are used as inspiration for the larger compositions at home. The studio oil and acrylic paintings are evoked by her memories within the landscapes rather than direct representations. She enjoys the ‘push’ and ‘pull’ process of painting and mark making to capture and express the landscape. She likes to work in a painterly style and is not afraid to let the intuitive process take over. She is becoming more excited about the possibilities of abstraction in her work.
